Make your custom build plan →

The 6th Gen 4Runner is Toyota's first complete 4Runner redesign since 2010. Built on the new TNGA-F platform shared with the Tacoma, Tundra, and Land Cruiser, it brings a turbocharged 2.4L i-FORCE engine, an 8-speed automatic, and significantly updated technology. The Trailhunter trim comes overlanding-ready from the factory with ARB bumpers and Old Man Emu suspension.

What to Do First

1.Consider the Trailhunter — factory ARB rack + OME suspension saves $4K+ in mods
2.5th Gen parts do NOT fit. Nothing crosses over to the new platform.
3.Aftermarket is already strong: C4, CBI, ICON, Bilstein, Prinsu, Cali Raised
4.Join 4Runners.com and T4R.org to track new releases and owner reviews
5.Universal gear (fridges, power stations, recovery, tires) works immediately

What's Different About This 4Runner

+2.4L turbo i-FORCE (278hp / 317 lb-ft)

+i-FORCE MAX hybrid available
+Trailhunter: factory ARB rack + OME shocks

Frequently Asked Questions

Do 5th Gen 4Runner parts fit the 2025 6th Gen?

No. The 6th Gen is built on an entirely new platform (TNGA-F). Bumpers, suspension, roof racks, sliders, and skid plates from the 5th Gen will NOT fit. Universal products like fridges, recovery boards, tires, and electrical gear work on any vehicle.

Is the Trailhunter worth the premium over TRD Off-Road?

If you plan to overland, yes. The Trailhunter comes with OME 2.5" forged monotube suspension, ARB roof rack with crossbars, ARB side rails, and unique off-road tuning — all factory-installed and warranty-covered. Buying comparable aftermarket suspension and rack separately would cost $4,000-6,000+ plus installation.

What mods should I do first on a 2025 4Runner?

Start with universal gear: recovery boards, a good set of all-terrain tires (Falken Wildpeak AT3W or BFGoodrich KO3), a portable fridge, and a power station. These work regardless of aftermarket availability. For vehicle-specific mods, wait for the aftermarket to mature — rushing into first-gen parts means higher prices and fewer reviews.
